Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page

CRY is a foundation set up for Cardiac Risk in the Young. Sadly this seems to be more common in young healthy men.

Rather devastatingly this is now a foundation close to my family's heart. A few months ago my family lost our beloved Alex Peck at only 38 years of age. Son, best friend, soul mate and brother. No warnings, no prior heart problems. Just a heart breaking phone call in the morning to tell us of our tragedy, that Alex just didn't wake up one morning. So quickly our lives changed. Sadly this also happened only 1 week after losing our Nan Bebe from again, unknown heart conditions. It completely shook our family to the core as we began to ask questions why. The answers we got will never be enough. But we do little things like this to try to believe that we can help in some way.

Raising awareness for this hidden condition can hopefully prevent or at least lessen the numbers of other families that may have to go through this awful time.

Any donations given can help research, give support to the family's affected and mainly raise awareness to this tragic cause. That in turn can hopefully aid preventions to these sad and sudden deaths in the young.

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.
