When David died on 2 February in addition to the emergency services, the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance arrived in Helimed 7, bringing Dr Scurr and his team, to David's aid.  They worked for more than an hour to try to restart David's heart with the aim of airlifting him to the care of our NHS.  

If you were thinking of getting flowers to remember David, I'd be grateful if you could consider donating to the Air Ambulance service instead, so they can continue to bring urgent medical care to those in need.  

David hated pomp and ceremony and would have felt uncomfortable at the thought of lots of flowers being bought for him only for them to wither.
