Story
Since our son, Jon, died aged 19 from SUDEP(Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) we have been raising funds to support young people living with epilepsy. There are over 600 deaths in the UK every year, that's approx 21per week, 3 EVERY Day. Your support through challenges and fundraising will help us to achieve our aims. We want to provide monitoring equipment and alarms which are not available through NHS and expensive to buy. They give families peace of mind and help towards living independantly. The monitors are a really useful aid in seizure management which has been highlighted as one of the major risks of SUDEP. We want to promote awareness of SUDEP through our campaign, fundraising events, and talking to our MP and clinicians. Unfortunately we were never told about the risk of SUDEP and according to statistics 80% of bereaved families never knew of the risk of death. It is important to help as many young people and families as possible. With your help we can do it. Thanks x
