I am raising much needed money for people who have Motor Neurones Disease and also for their families.
What is Motor Neourones Disease (MND) ?
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the upper and lower motor neurones.
Degeneration of the motor neurones leads to weakness and wasting of muscles, causing increasing loss of mobility in the limbs, and difficulties with speech, swallowing and breathing.
MND sadly kills 3 people in the UK every day.
Chris, a dear friend was diagnosed with MND 3 years ago.
His passion was to ride motor bikes and even when he had accidents, as soon as he recovered he was straight back in the saddle.
Soon after he was diagnosed Chris's muscles in his legs became weak, then other muscles started to deteriorate.
Now Chris cannot use his muscles at all, he can no longer feed himself, wash himself or lots of other things, the list of which is too lengthy to mention.
Chris has always been positive throughout, he is an inspiration to us all.
Chris could not have gotten by had it not been for his fantastic wife Diane, all of his family, friends, and very importantly, the MND South Yorkshire, the charity who tirelessly raise money to help sufferers and their families, and also invest in research to find a cure, as yet their is no cure
Sadly in September 2010 Chris passed away.
