Story
As many of you know, in October last year, we sadly lost our darling Fred. Fred was one of the kindest, most genuine and caring people I have ever met, a true old-school gent.
Fred wasn't just my father-in-law, but a friend, someone who visited me most days, who I could talk to for hours, and who quite simply had the most amazing life. He would often tell me stories of his bingo days, his travels around the world with Norma and Andy and memories of times gone by with his friends, who I genuinely, felt like I knew.
Fred made everyone who he met, feel loved. I wish I'd have told him how much his daily visits helped me and how much I appreciated him. He never allowed anyone to feel lonely or sad and would do whatever he could to make you laugh.
With that said, this one, is 100% for you, Fred... On the 21 May 2023, I WILL be running the Manchester Half Marathon, solely in our Fred Bones memory and to raise any donations I can for Dementia UK, in hope that this small gesture shows how much Fred meant to me.
Any donation, no matter how great or small, is appreciated more than words can say and will help towards the amazing work which Dementia UK do every day.
Fred, we will never forget you, we will miss you forever... I'm praying that you will be with me in spirit on the day, cheering me on with a glass of red in the sky!!
Thanks so much for reading this and for any kind donations.
Right, I best get training!!! 4 months to go!!!
