Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!!
On the 9th of August 2009 I completed the Wick Triathlon in 1:19:40! It consisted of a:
- 750m Swim - 11:57 (PB) (and I did 800m by mistake!! so the time was taken at 750m!)
- 20km Cycle - 41:01 (PB)
- 5km Run - 23:29
I came in 8th out of the women who took part and am really chuffed with my times! It was hard work on the run, but the training seems to have paid off! I have been training to get fit and took part in some other events before the main triathlon in August. Some of these included:
- 5k Santa Dash in December (dressed up as Santa - I kid you not!).
- 10k Run in May 2009. (completed in 48:33 minutes - 287th place!)
- 2 half marathons (March - 1:53, June 1:45)
I've been training up to six days a week and my training progress can be followed on my blog here: lornpearson.spaces.live.com
I'm raising money for Leukaemia Care and I'd really appreciate your support. I chose this charity as I know people who have lived with and been affected by this cancer and I would like to think that I can help raise money through the exercise I do.
Information about the charity shown on the left. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Lukeamia Care gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor me now!
And you can check my blog and even sign up to the RSS Feed. I'll continue to post updates on how the training is going and how any events I take part in go.
Thanks for your time and please give generously!
