Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page! Lorna and Sue (a mother-in-law/daughter-in-law team) are doing the trek to raise money for Cancer Research, an area close to both our hearts. Lorna lost her Aunt Hillie to cancer a few years ago, and Sue lost her mum and her friend to the disease - so we’re doing this in memory of these wonderful people as well as to the many whose lives are directly affected by cancer.
The expedition combines an awesome Himalayan trek with a visit to India’s exiled Tibetan community and, hopefully, attending an audience with the Dalai Lama in person.
It's a two week expedition which takes in Hindu settlements and isolated Buddhist monasteries. The region remains largely unvisited, which makes it a pristine and unspoilt area to trek. We'll be spending a night beside nomadic shepherd encampments, and another in the Taragarh Palace.
If you would be kind enough to sponsor us we'd be really grateful and it would mean so much to us and many other people faced with the heartache of cancer.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Cancer Research Wales will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you - PLEASE give giftaid, it'll help us reach our target more quickly and the charity to benefit to full effect!
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
