Story
This was something I would have liked to have done whilst my mum was still around but the disease took over and bless her heart, she deteriorated so fast I never quite made it. My mum was 68 years old. Alzheimer's completely took her and everything she was. She no longer knew who we were, she couldn't eat or walk. Truly devastating.
I'm not the first to walk for the Alzheimer’s Society and I certainly wont be the last but this will be a first for me!. The most I have ever walked in one go is 9 miles so this is quite a challenge, but I'm determined.
Ironically the walk I have chosen to do falls on the 10th June 2023, 4 days before the 1 year anniversary of her death and exactly 1 month before her birthday. Regardless of whether it takes me 8 hours or 28, I will reach the finish line in memory of my beautiful mum. We need to find a cure for this cruel disease so other people and families don't have to suffer like we all have.
Please please dig deep if you can. Any donation at all is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance
