Samuel’s 100 mile lockdown cycle for DGRI critical care unit · 17 April 2020

We fund relevant service development to improve the lives of our community

Story

My mummy and daddy’s friend Robbie Purdie was discharged earlier this week from DGRI following being in Critical Care with covid19. We had felt helpless in trying support his family through this time.

Living in a street with many nurses working in DGRI and also my Mummy’s close friend Claire is working hard with covid patients, we feel very grateful for their continued commitment to helping others.
I would like to undertake my first ever personal challenge, and any fundraising will support our local DGRI and families through this challenging time.
At the start of the Government lockdown I had just celebrated my 4th birthday. I intend to cycle 100 miles with my Mummy and Daddy during this time. This will be done during our daily exercise time within Government guidelines. I will cycle in Heathhall woods on undulating terrain, on our cycle path network and also as the roads are quiet, I am learning how to cycle on the roads. Mummy is on strava and will keep a record of how far I have cycled during lockdown.
Thank you for your support
