Story
Two weeks ago we were all just living our lives.
When our lovely mum went to the doctors with a suspected kidney infection, we had no idea what was round the corner. Glenda died of very late stage ovarian cancer that had spread. She had no obvious symptoms and other than her bloated belly (which she hated!) she felt very well. She was a fun happy healthy 71 year old.
It was nine days from first presenting with belly ache to us losing her. We are heartbroken but we were so lucky to have her.
Glenda was a formidable lady. She adored her family and her little dog. She was the best mum and wife and nan. She was a one off character who shined so bright, had the loudest laugh, massive hair, pink lips. She put the fun into every day.
She also loved the Eve Appeal. Her daughter Lorna has been involved with them for some time and they do ground-breaking work into gynae cancers.
We would love to raise some money to go towards research for ovarian cancer, and we know our mum would approve of this.
Your light will never go out mum. See you in our dreams.
