100km in 30 days for Somerset Wildlife Trust

Thanks
for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Hannah Dixon and I am 8 years old. Nature is my favourite thing. I recently found out that some of our own wildlife are being badly impacted by humans so want to raise some money to protect our environment and all creatures which don’t get adopted but are equally as important as the Snow Leopard and the Giant Panda.
I am going to walk 100km over 30 days to raise as much money as possible for Somerset Wildlife Trust. All walks will be recorded on my Mum’s Strava account as evidence of kilometres walked. I also have my own record sheet which my Mum will also sign as evidence.
The first walk was Friday 2nd April 2021 and the final
walk will be Thursday 6th May 2021.
This year the Fund is particularly important as the Trust navigates its way through the uncertain economic climate, and after a year when its conservation volunteer teams have not be out to help manage its reserves as usual but many more local people have been visiting its reserves.
“Our nature reserves provide a safe refuge for an enormous range of wildlife, including some exceptionally rare species. They are also really important wildlife habitats within Somerset’s nature recovery network – a matrix of connected healthy habitats across the county through which species can move and spread. They are so important as we look to tackle the decline in biodiversity and the continued impacts of climate change. It’s absolutely essential that we continue to raise funds to keep our nature reserves in good health.”Katie ArberDirector of Fundraising and Marketing
