We love a long walk... Ari & I are walking the Via Francigena (1900km from Canterbury to Rome). The route crosses France through Switzerland and down into Italy... We estimate that it will take around 3 months. The difference with our walk is that we plan to sleep and live outside along the way as much as we can in a very basic way enjoying nature all the more... relying on local hospitality and solidarity along the way. We decided to raise money for Shelter during our walk, as helping the most vulnerable means a lot to us. Since 2011 calls to Shelter have risen by 20%... It is estimated that a family loses there home every 11 minutes in the UK, and along with welfare reforms, legal aid cuts and austerity measures (the same across Europe) these figures are set to rise. We want to do our bit to help those at risk in our own small way.

Ari & I met on the Camino de Santiago 4 years, ago and have walked and traveled together ever since... We hoped to do multiple fundraising, as she is from Spain and I am from the UK, but instead, we urge to our friends in other countries that should Shelter not be their charity of choice, that they donate to it's equivalent where they are... for example RAIS fundacion in Spain.

We started here with a £1000 target, but if we reach it (fingers crossed.x) we will change the goal posts... let's all do something good together.x
