Story
On the 1st September 2024 our best friend, Natasha ‘Tash’ Read (née Gir) lost her short 10 month battle with stage 4 bile duct and liver cancer, leaving behind her two beautiful children, Alex and baby Elliott, and her childhood sweetheart and husband, Darren. Tash had a bucket list and visiting the giants causeway was on the list. Our friendship group was in the planning stages of a trip to the causeway, before she suddenly passed. She never got to fulfil her wish to visit the causeway.
Her 37th birthday would be on the 19th June, so when we saw that Macmillan had a hike for cancer just 2 days after, and at her bucket list location, we knew we had to sign up. She was one the kindest and most beautiful souls we ever had the privilege to know, and it is our honour to do this hike in her memory. Her good will and thoughtfulness were what made her special, attributes that we don't see often enough in this world, that's why we are doing this hike under the banner of #BeMoreTash.
I'd be so grateful if you could help me reach my £250 pledge, which can pay for a Macmillan Nurse for one day. This could provide people living with cancer and their families essential medical, practical and emotional support.
There are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today. It's Macmillan's goal to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis, but they can't do this without the kind donations of people like you.
Thank you!
