Story

Story by Jude - "My dad Jack, has dementia and him and my mum, Belen, have fantastic ongoing support from their local Admiral Nurse, Donna. We are extremely lucky to have her as these specialist nurses are not available to everyone."

"About Admiral Nurses

Admiral Nurses were named by the family of Joseph Levy CBE BEM, who founded the charity. Joseph had vascular dementia and was known affectionately as “Admiral Joe” because of his love of sailing.

Admiral Nurses are continually trained, developed and supported by Dementia UK. Families that have their support have someone truly expert and caring by their side – helping them to live more positively with dementia in the present, and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence and less fear."

To raise money for more of these nurses, my friends Laura, Linda and Lisa, Llinos and I (Long Distance Claras) are taking on the Cardiff Half Marathon 2019.

Any amount you can spare to donate would be much appreciated. Lets get Admiral Nurses available for everyone who needs them!

Thank you,

Jude, Laura, Linda, Lisa & Llinos
