Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Two and a half years ago, my Mum was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. She has been an absolute inspiration to me throughout my life and the fight she has shown and continues to show in battle with this truly horrendous disease is an inspiration to all who know her. Having seen the horrific impact this disease has, as it slowly removes the ability to walk, talk, eat, drink and eventually breathe, I feel compelled to raise money for this incredibly worthy cause.
Despite some high profile cases, awareness of this disease is still low and the funds raised are so crucial to supporting individuals and families that have suffered with this disease, but also to support the search for a cure to this disease.
23 years ago this year, my Mum took me on a school trip cycling in the Netherlands. I have very fond memories of this trip and now, with the carefully selected team of Joe Darlington, Steve Ball and David Supperstone, I am returning, but this time we will be cycling the whole journey there. This will involve cycling approximately 340 miles over 4 days and with our team of mixed cycling abilities and even more mixed opinions, this will be a huge test of both physical capabilities and friendships. Therefore we ask for any donations to support this cause.
