Story
It is no exaggeration to say that the world class expertise at St. Mark's Hospital is the reason that I am alive today. Not only do they keep me alive with parenteral nutrition (fluids and nutrition directly into a vein), but they have also given me the opportunity to follow my dreams.
James and I are taking a journey from our flat in London across Europe without leaving our front door. We will peddle hard for 1685 miles without moving an inch. Although our flat is considerably less scenic than the places we will be "visiting", you will be able to follow our journey as we attempt to recreate cultural elements of the countries that we pass through, and increase awareness of bowel disease. We aim to each cycle 20 miles a day, and hope to 'arrive' in Sicily in 42 days time.
Due to the global pandemic, income critical to the innovative research that St. Mark's Hospital Foundation undertakes will be significantly reduced this year. With this challenge we hope to raise funds for St. Mark's Hospital, allowing them to continue to provide their 50'000 complex bowel disease patients with exceptional care.
