The sponsored walk that's good for the sole! We're challenging you to walk 100,000 steps in your chosen week of May and raise at least £100 for Guide Dogs thats less than 1p per step!

Story

Some of us from the Guide Dogs Campaigns Team are attempting to walk 100,000 steps (50miles) in 24 hours!

Taking part are:

  • James White (Head of Campaigns and Public Affairs)
  • Chris Theobald (Public Affairs Manager)
  • Pete Mills (Public Affairs Officer)
  • Kat Copperthwaite (Public Affairs Officer)

We hope to raise £500 and this money you help raise really will make a difference. Guide Dogs provides mobility services to support the independence of people with sight loss in the UK, and alongside our mobility work, we campaign to break down physical and legal barriers to enable people with sight loss to get around on their own terms. Current estimates suggest there are two million people with sight loss in the UK, of which around 360,000 are registered as blind or partially sighted - so your support will make a difference to a huge number of people.

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
