Story
On the 21st of April 2024 I will be running the London Marathon for Muscular Dystrophy UK (MDUK). In 2019 I started as a volunteer with MDUK and immediately recognised the vital work the charity does to support the 110,000 children and adults living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK. Currently, there's no cure for Muscular Dystrophy, and it many cases, it limits lives. The commitment of the charity to support individuals and families living with these conditions made me want to continue volunteering for them for the rest of my time at university. Since, starting my PhD I have continued to volunteer for the charity and most recently I volunteered for MDUK in September
2023.
MDUK fund pioneering research into treatments and cures as well as providing vital information, advice, resources and support for individuals and families living with these conditions. It is imperative that we support the charity. Therefore, to continue supporting MDUK in any capacity possible I have decided to run the London marathon in April 2024.
If you have any spare money, you would like to donate please do so. All donations, big or small, are greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Best,
Shreya
