Story
However you found yourself here, thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I may be completely and utterly mad but the wonderful people at Action on Hearing Loss (Formerly RIND) have accepted me as part of Team Hearo for the 2016 London Marathon.
I have Deaf and deafened friends and have worked with Deaf young people in the past. I have a passion for breaking down the barriers between Deaf and hearing people.
Deaf awareness is not just about enabling hearing people to be able to better welcome a Deaf person: is is about inclusion, understanding and acceptance.
My very good friend Beverly, who is herself deafened, says I am not disabled - I just can't hear. On barriers, Beverly says: "Just being accepted as a normal person gave me so much confidence. It was through being accepted that I shed the "nuisance" label I had worn all my life."

Please donate as much as you are able. I will be grateful for every penny (and pound!) you are able to donate to this amazing charity. Any money I raise from the October Christchurch Half Marathon will also be going towards the overall funds for 2016.
