Story

I am taking on the 2024 London Landmarks Half Marathon to support King's College Hospital Charity!

On March 7th 2016, our elder son, Dylan became gravely ill.  He had been suffering from a bad cold, which took a downhill turn and he became feverish and weak.  We managed to get an emergency appointment at the local surgery where the GP recognised some startling symptoms and recommended A&E. That GP's diligence probably saved Dylan's life. The journey started at Lewisham Hospital and from there he was blue lit to Kings College Hospital.   A subdural empyema was diagnosed and that's when we met the KCH neurology team.   I have always wanted to give something back to Kings College Hospital.  We will forever be indebted to the specialists, doctors, nurses and all the support staff at Kings for giving us back our son.  I intend to document Dylan's story (with his permission) alongside my training as the dates are uncannily intertwined.

This is the least I can do...although it is 13 miles...which is quite a lot!
