Our daughter Poppy Grace was born silently into the world on the 1st November 2013. No parent should ever have to bury their own child and we still feel her loss as if it were yesterday.

I have found solace in running since her death and have taken part in quite a few events to raise money for baby loss charities that have helped us navigate our grief, in the hope that they can continue to support other bereaved families and ultimately reduce the number of babies dying. 15 babies a day die before, during or shortly after birth which is 15 too many.

On 25th March 2018 I will be running alongside some of my wonderful SANDS friends in the first ever London Landmarks Half Marathon through central London. In preparation for this event I will also be partaking in the Great North Run on Sunday 10th September 2017, though I suspect that will be more jogging/crawling along the 13 mile course than running!!!

Running a half marathon will really be a test for me and so I will need your support. I hope to raise some much needed money to help Tommy's continue their vital work in researching the causes of stillbirth and late miscarriage (most are preventable) to help save babies' lives. 

Since I am running in an official charity place there is a requirement for me to raise a specific amount of money which I really hope you'll help me achieve. With that in mind I am honoured to be able to offer 13 families the opportunity to nominate a specific mile in memory of their baby. I will be taking specific sponsorship requests for dedicated miles and those babies will have their names stamped on a charm which I will carry with me on race day. Afterwards, they will be posted out to their families as a treasured keepsake. The charms will have your babies name on one side, and the race details on the reverse and will be made of aluminium so can be worn as jewellery if you so wish. 

Since we do not have the opportunity for a lifetime of memories with them, we have to find ways to make our own <3 Any dedications received before the Great North Run will enable me to run with their babies in that event as well...
