Fundraising for Spinal Injuries Association
Inspired by Martin Hibbert and his story after meeting him, I am running the London Marathon on April 23rd to raise money for the Spinal Injuries Association.
Martin was one of the closest people to survive the Manchester Arena bomb attack at the Ariana Grande concert in May 2017. He suffered 22 shrapnel wounds, and his spinal cord was severed. He was left paralysed from the waist down, and his life was changed forever.
Incredibly Martin went on to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in a wheelchair to raise awareness of spinal injuries and to fundraise. You can learn more about Martin by watching Martin’s Mountain on BBC iPlayer.
In the UK, 2,500 people sustain a spinal cord injury every year. The Spinal Injury Association's range of services supports them with expert information, advice and support when they need it the most. They help thousands of people every year facing life-changing circumstances.
Anything you could donate will make a huge difference in the lives of people with spinal injuries and their families. Your donation could help change someone’s life for the better.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness.
