Story

Thanks for taking time to visit my fundraising page.

Many of you will know that I like running a lot but this time I'm also running the London Marathon to raise awareness (and a little money) for Prostate Cancer UK.

In the UK, 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, 143 will be diagnosed each day and, every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer - that's 12,000 men every year.

And, if you or your loved ones are over 50, like me, there is a greater risk of developing prostate cancer.

So, fellas of my vintage - get yourself checked out!  A digital rectal examination only takes a couple of minutes and, although you may feel embarrassed, it could save your life.  I'm happy to say that I had my first DRE 2 years ago - all was well and I felt reassured, not embarrassed.

Thankyou
