Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK. That's thousands of dads, grandads, partners, brothers, uncles, sons and mates. But it doesn't have to be this way. The money you raise will help fund lifesaving research into better tests and treatments

Story

Hi everyone! It has been a little while since my last charity run, therefore I have decided to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK, a charity that has become very close to home.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. Every year, 52,000 men are diagnosed. Prostate cancer usually affects men over 50, with this risk increasing with age. The risk increases even higher in those with a family history of prostate cancer.

Earlier this year after numerous tests, my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer. Men with early prostate cancer will often have no symptoms because of the way the cancer grows. Unfortunately in his case, it had already progressed by the time he had been diagnosed. He is now currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment and keeping positive throughout.

I'm raising money to help fund lifesaving research and support for men and their families such as my own, who have been affected by prostate cancer.
