Story
It was January 2021 and we were waiting to find out the results from all my Dad’s tests. We knew it was going to be a prostate cancer diagnosis but we didn’t know if it was ‘just’ that or whether the cancer had spread. Thankfully for my Dad it hadn't spread, he’s been one of the ‘lucky’ ones, well as lucky as you can be when you’ve been diagnosed with cancer. He was diagnosed quickly, treated quickly and after hormone injections and radiotherapy it’s under control but it’s still something he will have to live with for the rest of his life. The bravery my Dad has shown is phenomenal, he’s been incredibly pragmatic and in a truly British way hasn’t made a fuss and has just got on with it.
I'm running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April 2022 to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK . Prostate cancer kills 1 in 8 men. That's one dad, partner, brother, son, grandad, uncle or mate. I'm raising money to help fund research to stop men dying of prostate cancer so please dig deep.
