Fundraising for PROSTATE CANCER UK
Story
Thanks for visiting my Just Giving fundraising page where I’m planning to raise money in support of Prostate Cancer UK by taking part in my second charity event; London Landmarks half marathon on behalf of my Dad on 3rd April 2022
Sadly my incredible Dad was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in July 2018 and has been fighting the disease ever since. He has been blessed with an amazing consultant and medical team who have provided various treatments over the years and more recently regular chemotherapy treatment. Unfortunately his consultants and medical team have now advised that he should stop undergoing Chemotherapy as the treatment is no longer working and is impacting his quality of life. Whilst the Chemo has successfully stabilised the cancer growth it currently lies dormant, however, sadly it has not gone away. My father is now receiving alternative medical care to optimize his quality of life. Right now I feel it’s my duty to support my Dad and other Cancer sufferers by raising vital funds.
Last year I raised over £800 for Prostate Cancer Research and this year I will be raising money for Prostate Cancer UK, a charity very close to my heart. It’s evident that the research and development invested into Cancer treatment is helping my father and many more men with Prostate Cancer so if you can spare a few pounds to donate to this life changing charity I would be sincerely grateful.
If you're male aged 50 or over and would like to have your PSA levels tested, talk to your GP as they can arrange for it to be carried out free on the NHS.
