Story
We are raising money for The Quiet Cancer Therapy Appeal within the Royal Free Hampstead Charitable Trust. "Quiet Cancer" is the term applied to Neuroendocrine Tumours (NETs). The lack of symptoms associated with NETs usually means the disease has spread before diagnosis. As a rare cancer it receives only limited funding so it is our objective to help raise money for the funding of new research and clinical programmes.
Let's not kid ourselves, this bike ride is going to hurt! London to Edinburgh is a very long way and we are by no means youngsters. But it will be worth it if we are able to make a few more people aware of this illness and help raise money for the NET unit at the Royal Free Hospital.
Please dig deep and make our pain worth it !
Also just for fun (yours) there is a raffle component. For donations over £30 you are eligible to guestimate the total distance cycled from London (Royal Free Hampstead) to Edinburgh (Scott Memorial, Princes Street) the closest guess (in miles) wins £200 .....remember we may get lost! Put your guess in the the comment section and good luck.
We have a website so you can read more about this mad adventure, the inspiration behind the ride, the riders and the cause. We will also be updating photos and comments during the ride. So from your comfortable homes and offices you will be able to follow our not so comfortable progress on .....
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Quiet Cancer Therapy Appeal at the Royal Free Hampstead Charitable Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
