Story

Please support me - I've left my fundraising request a little late!

On Friday 28th April, (that's coming up very soon, it's next week - eek!) I will be cycling from London to Bruges in Belgium with a brief stop in Canterbury to raise much needed funds for our school, John Ball Primary. Together with my team mates, I'll be hopping on my saddle outside the school and pedalling all the way to there.  That is, apart from the Channel crossing - we have a ferry for that!  I will be riding on behalf of The Friends of John Ball, a registered charity and the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) for John Ball Primary School.  The Friend's role is vital in this, as they supplement additional in-school experiences, trips, one-off projects, play equipment and pastoral care to enrich all our children's learning and school experience. Find out more at www.friendsofjohnballschool.co.uk.  If you could be kind enough to sponsor me for this brilliant cause, I would be so grateful!

If this isn't enough, next Wednesday and Thursday (26th and 27th April), I am performing with my beloved Citizens of the World choir on the world famous Barbican stage in a marvellous production called A Play for the Living in a time of Extinction by Headlong: if you'd like a ticket, head over to https://www.barbican.org.uk/whats-on/2023/event/katie-mitchell-headlong-a-play-for-the-living.

What is really funny about this production for me, is that while I'm singing, there will be actors beside me pedalling on static bikes to power up the stage!  This is a sure sign as any for me to get on my bike the morning after and be raring to go with my team mates for a beautifully promised send off by the school!  Please support me in any way you can!  Thank you so much in advance!

PS) Last year I cycled from London to Amsterdam and along with my team mates, we raised £20,000 which paid for a new library for the school (there was no working library beforehand).  If that's not essential for children, I don't know what is!  I'm determined to cycle again to raise more essential funds.

PPS) The photo is of me at the top of Mount Toro in Menorca at Easter which I cycled up on a mountain bike.  It was extremely tough but worth it for the training for our forthcoming cycle...and the lovely view of course!  I have been training so hard....please help me make this fundraising cycle worthwhile!
