Dear Friends, Family and Colleagues,

In April we got the offer at work to Run the Royal Parks Half Marathon and a few of us signed up for the challenge. Not a day goes past without me regretting the decision for actually having to run over 22K, however when thinking of the extremely good cause it is for, it brings the motivation straight back.

My aim is to raise over £600.00 over the next few months and help Save the Children in their ongoing battle in helping children all over the world.

When disaster strikes around the world, Save the Children is there to save lives with food, medical care and education and remains to help communities rebuild through long-term recovery programs.

It is our great opportunity to support this good cause and help the children in getting food, clean water, vacinations and fight child powerty around the world.

Every Pound donated to Save the Children will be of great help. A quick example how litle it costs to save a life in terms of providing a vaccination. In sub-Saharan Africa, measles takes the life of a child nearly every minute of every day. An effective measles vaccine costs as little as $1 per child. (source: WHO)

A child dies every four seconds from HIV/AIDS and extreme poverty often before their fifth birthday. 15 children die every minute. Over 22,000 children die worldwide every single day. About 8 million children die every year.  (Source: UNICEF)

 More than one billion people do not have access to clean drinking water and water for domestic purposes. Water problems are worse especially in Africa. (source: World vision)

 About 4 million newborns die worldwide during their first month of life. About 2.5 million children die every year because they are not immunized. (sources:World Health Organization)
