Story
Following the success of the litter pick l did last year for Christian Aid , I am again litter picking in Melbourne during May.
For over 75 years Christian Aid has been standing with the poorest of our neighbours working with people of all faiths and none to stand up for dignity, equality and justice. They work with people like Jessica (pictured), a loving mum in Zimbabwe for whom drought means every day is a struggle for survival. Like many women, she toils on her farm, but no food can grow on her ashen dry land. But with the support of Christian Aid partners, Jessica can learn how to sow drought tolerant crops and how to grow food in dry seasons. She could build a storeroom to preserve food and bounce back from future drought.
In recent years, the people of Melbourne have generously supported Christian Aid Week and last year over £3,800 was raised. Thank you so much.
This year, we are again looking at varied ways to raise funds including this page and a 'delivery only 'envelope. The envelope can be dropped off at The Athenaeum letterbox on Potter Street if you wish. Thank you to everyone who has already done this
Many Thanks,
Anne Brady and Lorraine Robinson
