I cannot wait to walk 5km for my grandad in the city he was born in and loved so much. He suffers with dementia and has been separated from loved ones by this cruel illness for almost a year. It’s been one of the most devastating experiences in our lives especially for my grandma. We want to raise money for the support and care around dementia and Alzheimer’s as it is needed so much. We are so grateful for the care that he is under now and we want to help make sure that it gets the funding it needs and deserves. He raised me like a second father and I have the best memories with him. I’ll never forget the cinema trips, the trips to the Etihad and the sneaky slip of money into my hand when seeing him. He is the kindest soul one could ever meet. Loved his football, music, films and most of all his family and friends. I really hope that some of you will be able to donate even just a little bit as it really does go a long way for this cause. I miss him dearly. He was and still is my heart. I love you Grandad. I know you’ll be proud.
