Story
This August myself and other students from the University of Exeter will be trekking to Machu Picchu, the ancient city of the Inca in Cusco, Peru. The six day trek will take us up to 4,700 metres above sea level, climbing nearly 2000 metres. As you might know, I have a very poor stamina and bad knees and ankles, so this is going to be a bit of a challenge!
What makes it all worth while is the money we are going to raise for Hope for Children. I've been lucky enough to have a 'normal' life that most of us take for granted. However, some of us are less fortunate and so I hope my efforts will go some way making someone's life a little happier.
Here's how your donation could make an impact:
• £6 can provide online tuition for a secondary student in Uganda for a week
• £12 can provide a counsellor for a young person for one month
• £20 can provide a set of headphones for a blind student to access recorded material in school in Sri Lanka
• £98 can provide 1 secondary education teacher for a year
• £100 pays for a child to be enrolled on the feeding programme for a whole year
Over the next few months, I will be organising various fundraising events and collections in order to reach my target of £1695. In the meantime, I would be very grateful if you could support me in this worthwhile cause.
Any donation, big or small, would be appreciated, even by spreading the word of Hope for Children, you can have a massive impact. So thank you for your support!
Wish me good luck and strength!
