Story
In a little over a week I'll be running (or crawling) solo around the Yorkshire Dales 3 Peaks. This covers 38.6km distance and 5200ft ascent... basically a marathon with mountains!
The furthest I've ever run is half this distance on a very very flat route. It's going to be savage, mentally challenging and probably pissing it down BUT it's all for an amazing cause so it's worth it right???
I'll be raising money for Action Guinea Bissau to give more women and children an education in one of the poorest countries in the world.
Guinea Bissau has the 11th lowest years of schooling in the world (average 3.2 years) and one of the lowest literacy rates (only 3 in 10 women are literate). Giving an education not only means giving the ability to earn an income for the rest of their lives for them and their families, but also decreases the chance of child marriage (54% of women without an education compared to 9% with).
To give you an idea of where your money will go, primary and secondary schooling costs between £5 to £15 a month and university degrees are 4 years long with fees of £42 a month... so your donation could be life changing!
Any donation to help the cause/ any words of encouragement would be mega appreciated!!
