Story

***This event has now been completed, it was very tiring, wet, cold and windy to say the least but very rewarding to reach the top for sunrise.

The view wasn’t quite as expected as it was so cloudy but perhaps that is a reason to go again 💪🏽

Thank you to all who have sponsored me and supported this amazing charity ❤️***

I will be climbing Snowdon in the 2021 sunrise challenge to raise money for Heartlands hospital ward 26. The walk will start at 12:30am reaching the summit at 6am and back down to the coach for 9:30am.

Ward 26 supports patients with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) . CF is a genetic condition affecting one in 25 of us. It is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time.

Patients with cystic fibrosis spend much of their time in hospital. As many patients stay on the unit for long periods of time, the unit at Heartlands has a range of facilities to make the patients stay as comfortable as possible, helping them to remain active and healthy, and ultimately helping them to go home sooner.

My uncle Marc lost his battle to the condition at just 30 years old, leaving behind his beautiful daughter Aaliyah - just three years old and his wife Samantha.

I want to raise awareness of the condition, the affects it can have on a family and the ability to live a “normal life” whilst raising money for the ward so they continue providing the facilities and equipment required to make the patient’s lives as comfortable as possible.

This is my way of saying thank-you for providing the care needed to Marc Duffy!❤️

Gone from our sight but forever in our hearts.
