Story
There may never again be a time when I can spend 10 days staring at my garage wall for a good cause, so now seems like the time to do it. I had planned to have already done some epic rides this year so, with that on hold, it seems an opportunity not to miss.
With my tub of chamois cream at the ready and a target of raising a modest 50p a mile, I will travel absolutely nowhere and cover the 1000 miles from bottom to top of the British Isles.
At this time, charity fund-raising is in everyone's minds, particularly for our emergency services. The Great North Air Ambulance Service relies on our donations in order to continue its vital life saving service and, in many ways, also taking strain off the NHS at this time. Please join me in offering them the funding they need and deserve.
========================
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) rescues hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year throughout the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Their doctor-led critical care teams deliver life-saving treatments at the scene of the incident whether that is on a fell top, a roadside or in a city centre. The charity responded to 1,640 call outs last year* alone, via their helicopter and emergency response vehicles, where they performed treatments and procedures which can mean the difference between life or death.
