Vetlife are a charity who support members of the veterinary community through their 24/7/365 helpline. They provide emotional, health and financial help to all members of the veterinary workplace from students to surgeons. 

The last 18 months have seen unprecedented changes in the veterinary world. Vetlife received 1,136 calls in the first three months of 2020. With only 20,000 practicing vets in the UK, this is a worrying number. Stress, anxiety, depression and fatigue can afflict all veterinary staff. However, 2019 was the busiest in Vetlife’s 28-year history and the steady increase of calls by over 500% in five years shows Covid-19 isn’t the whole story. Vetlife has literally been a lifeline for veterinary staff in crisis - pre-pandemic as well as during.

I am running the Loch Ness Marathon 2021 to raise well deserved pennies for Vetlife and to raise awareness of the amazing work they do. This will be my first marathon, but training is going well and I'm excited! and couldn't think of a better cause to fundraise for. Thanks for reading.
