Story
Recent LDC analysis has exposed the huge amount of structural change across the retail and leisure sector which has been taking place not just in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but consistently over the past few years.
We are always very aware of the human impact of this market change, which is one of the reasons that we have been working closely with the retailTRUST for many years.
As you can imagine, recent demand the the retailTRUST services has increased exponentially. A few stats that stand out to us:
- Over £800,000 was committed in non-repayable grants to support vunreable colleagues from becoming homeless, not being able to feed their families or make essential visits to the hospital.
- 13,450 calls were made to the telephone helpline, providing in-the-moment support.
- 6,273 counselling sessions helped people struggling with the difficult emotions and situations.
To raise money to fund these important services a brave group at the Local Data Company has agreed to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October.
If you are able and willing to make a donation to support us we would be incredibly grateful as it will make a huge difference to how much support the trust is able to provide to sector colleagues during a period which has been incredibly difficult for many people.
A huge thank you in advance,
Local Data Company
