Story
Newcastle LNER train drivers, John Barnes, Scott Markwell, Nick Duncan, Greg Isted, Jonathan Gage, Dale Carson, Chris Trotter, Jeff Smith, Paul Shepherd, Peter Coates and John Statton are running the 2019 Great North Run for CALM.
As train drivers many of us have experienced or know a colleague that has been affected by suicide on the railway.
With this in mind myself and 10 of my fellow LNER train drivers based at Newcastle have decided to take part in this years Great North Run in aid of the charity CALM, the campaign against living miserably.
By supporting CALM we hope to raise awareness of male suicide and to assist CALM in continuing their valuable work.
Ultimately we hope that by offering young men support when they need it we can reduce the rate of suicide and the affect it has on everyone.
Many thanks for taking the time to visit our page, any support you can offer us would be greatly appreciated!
