Story
On April 21st I will be attempting to run the London Marathon. This is as surprising to me as I am sure it is to you.
No-one that knows me would consider me particularly healthy, and certainly not 'fit'. I am 54 years old and I am starting from scratch. I don't look good in running gear. I'm not entirely sure I enjoy running that much.
I am motivated by the opportunity to raise some money for Muscular Dystrophy UK. MDUK is the charity for the 110,000 children and adults living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK. There's currently no cure, and it many cases, it limits lives. MDUK do vital work in funding pioneering research into treatments and cures as well as providing vital information, advice, resources and support for individuals and families living with these conditions.
I haven't done a personal sponsored activity since I was at school (that was a sponsored silence) and I'd like to raise a tonne of money for MDUK.
I don't have a target time - that would be foolish. It will be triumph enough if I finish. You making a donation means that I can't quietly withdraw at the last minute. Keep me honest.
All donations, big or small, are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
