Story
This year I have been selected as one of 5 students to represent Northumbria University and travel to Zambia over the summer for 6 weeks to coach sport as part of the 2017/18 Volunteer Zambia Project. This project aims to have a positive impact upon disadvantaged communities that are often affected by high levels of unemployment, drug and alcohol abuse, exclusion and many health risks including that of HIV and AIDS. Whilst out there we will be using sport as an educational tool by coaching community sessions to help increase self and community development and quality of life.
As part of the project we have to raise enough money to fund both our travel out there and to help sustain the project by funding the charities we will work with in Zambia. We each have an individual target of £1,400 to raise before the summer and any support to events I'll be hosting over the next few months; sponsorship for any challenges I will be getting involved in; or any donations you would like to make will all be greatly appreciated.
