As some of you may know, 2016 marks the 10 year anniversary since I sadly lost my sister Lucy to cancer.

To have watched the one I looked up to the most, my big sister, bravely battle the disease was an agonising experience. I have never met anyone so brave and strong to go through the things Lucy did and still have a smile on her face.

Throughout Lucy's battle, CLIC Sargent were always there for me, my family and most importantly, Lucy. Day and night they provided love and care, and made the heartbreaking times a little easier.

The support provided by CLIC Sargent was outstanding in every aspect. During life at home and in the hospitals near and far, they were always there. They ensured as a family we got the most out of the life Lucy had.

As I cannot thank CLIC Sargent enough for all their care and support, I think it is a great time for me to give something back. In October 2016 my Dad and I will be taking part in a trek along the Great Wall of China in aid of CLIC Sargent. I am so excited and determined to raise money for CLIC Sargent so they can provide the care and support to other families in need. And I will prove that Lucy's bravery and strength lives within me - with a smile on my face.
