We support vulnerable people in Africa to overcome poverty

Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page. I'm doing the Bristol Half Marathon on Sept. 6th to raise funds for Advantage Africa.

As you may know, I have "dabbled" in running for some time, from early days at Surrey University, feeling physically ill and wondering if I would make it up the final hill to the cathedral, to the Braun running club in the wooded hills of the Taunus in Germany in the 90s and more recently around Emberton Park and the streets of Olney (usually uphill, on the way to school pushing a 3 yr. old and accompanied by a 6 yr. old..)

I have recently started working for Advantage Africa, as well as joining Olney Runners, so what better way to kick-off than with a sponsored half-marathon.  My goal is to raise £300 for our charity and to complete the 13 miles without walking - bit of a long shot on the latter methinks, but I'm hoping you will help me to achieve the former.

The money I raise will help to change the lives of people affected by poverty, disability and HIV in Kenya and Uganda. Please take a look at the video opposite to see how your sponsorship will help restore dignity and hope to people in need.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure and they won't send you unwanted emails. Your money will go direct to Avantage Africa together with Gift Aid reclaimed if you're a UK taxpayer, saving time and cutting costs for our charity.

So please dig deep and sponsor me now. Many thanks.
