Story
Hi, my name is Liz... I am a student nurse and also a MASSIVE rugby fan. in December 2019 the Leeds Rhinos legend Rob Burrow was diagnosed with motor neurone disease, a condition which effects the nerves in the brain and progressively stops them from working. Having been an amazing player on the pitch it became a heartbreaking story to many rugby league fans to listen and watch the story of how MND would effect Rob. This story touched me and inspired me to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease Association in honor of the amazing Rob Burrow. This charity works on improving care for individuals living with MND and takes part in vital research to improve the knowledge surrounding the disease.
Starting on the 7th of July me and my dad are taking on the 123 mile walk from east to west visiting all of the current super league stadiums:
Hull KR
Hull FC
Castleford
Wakefield
Leeds
Huddersfield
Salford
Leigh
Wigan
St Helens
Warrington
This will include 4/5 days of 10-13 hours of walking each day in the hope to raise as much money as possible for this amazing course and in recognition of Rob Burrow whose story has touched so many people. We're hoping that this brings awareness to MND and helps many families whose loved ones are living through a tough time.
