I am hoping that by cycling 81 miles (which will take me ages) i will raise  money towards the setting up costs to establish the first Ben Walton Trust Charity Shop. The shop aims to raise money for the trust and highlight the common signs and symptoms of oral cancer. It will also provide health information and sign post and refer people to services such as smoking cessation clinics as necessary.  We need £8,000 to start-up

The Trust was set up in memory of Ben Walton who died of oral cancer aged 22 years. He neither smoked nor drank. Oral cancer is highly cureable if detected early. By raising awareness among health professionals and the general public, many lives could be saved.  The Charity shop is one means of doing this, so please help as best you can.

I started the day at 5.30am and was on my bike by 7.00am (must be bonkers i thought !) Still, there were nearly 5,000 other fools out there with me.

 

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and thanks so much to everyone who donated. All the donations have inspired me to raise more money and therefore get the shop up and running before long!
