Story
Hi, Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those of you who have been following my fitness and fundraising journey to date, you will no doubt have seen that our original plan to trek across the Atlas mountains to climb Mount Toubkal has unfortunately been cancelled due to Covid-19, having been postponed from 2020 with all proceeds raised in 2020 and 2021 supporting Mental Health UK's Bloom Programme.

Luckily for us, we have a new challenge to face into in May 2022 which promises to be just as demanding, if a little less hot and sunny!
In May 2022, I and a team of 29 Lloyds Banking Group colleagues will be taking part in a 4 day ‘ultra distance’ trek in the highlands of Scotland. This tough challenge will follow the famous West Highland way, where we will pass the breath-taking Loch Lomond and finish in the shadow of the UK’s highest peak, Ben Nevis, covering 67 miles in total. Whilst we will be exploring a truly spectacular part of Scotland, the trek will nonetheless be both physically and mentally challenging, negotiating demanding terrain and extreme weather.
Our team goal is to raise £120,000.00. The money raised will help support Mental Health UK with the fundraising efforts of Lloyds Banking Group.
The pandemic has exposed more of us to uncertainties and risk factors that can lead to poor mental health, and it’s affected access to
support and treatment, setting back recovery for some people and communities by months, if not years.
With the right support, at the right time, people living with poor mental health can truly thrive, but this can often only happen if they can get the support they need in their local area. So your donations towards my fundraising in 2022 will enable Mental Health UK to evolve and restore vital mental health services in local communities across all four nations, delivering a range of projects that, at their core, will give people the tools they need to live their best possible lives.
Mental Health UK will assess need and identify where they can have the biggest impact, drawing on nearly 50 years of experience to understand what it is that people and communities need to support and manage their mental health. It could be something as simple as buying seeds and equipment so a mental health gardening group can start meeting up again, to delivering larger programmes that support underserved communities to access mental health support.
Together, I am confident we can break down any stigmas attached to mental health and assist one another when support is needed.
Thank you for taking the time to read and for your support, every penny helps us reach our goal and is very much appreciated.
