Story
I have a big 70th birthday coming up 😱 so instead of parties, holidays of a lifetime or birthday presents I have decided to take on the challenge of walking ‘The Yorkshire 3 Peaks’ with my ‘Sherpa’ support family. I am doing this tough 24 mile walk taking in the 3 peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-Y-Ghent on the 12th September 2021, with the aim of finishing it within 12 hours.
Why would I want to do this when I have a bad back, a dodgy knee and sore toes….
My absolute motivation is to raise as much money as I can in aid of MIND.
Why MIND- This is a charity close to my heart as I lost my beautiful, kind and courageous daughter 3 years ago to Anorexia. Sally had struggled for over 20 years and eventually her body was unable to survive the ravages of this dreadful illness.
So many young people suffer, unable to access the vital information and support services when they are desperately needed. The NHS rely massively on the work of charities like MIND to provide essential services such as helplines, community peer support, research and in campaigning for better mental health services
I would be so grateful for any donations and will keep in touch with my progress up the Yorkshire 3 Peaks!
Thank you
Liz xx
