Fundraising for Stroke Association
On the 22nd September 2021, our mum suffered from a stroke. This resulted in a bleed on the brain, the left side of her body being paralysed, blurred vision in her left eye and her struggling to communicate properly. She is now currently in a specialist Stroke Rehabilitation Hospital receiving help where she may be able to regain the movement back in her body over time.
Anyone who knows our mum will know how she is always on the go and always putting other people first. So not only has this had a physical affect on her but mentally it is very difficult as she is now bed bound for the foreseeable future and unable to live life as she did before.
Myself, Brooke, Harry and Jordan are going to be taking on the Jurassic Coast Walk Challenge which is approximately 95 miles from Exmouth to Studland. Most advise it to be done over 9 days but we are hoping we can complete within 5/6. We will be camping overnight (wherever we can) and limited to basic resources that we are able to carry in backpacks.
The Stroke Association support people getting the very best care and rebuild their lives after stroke. Their services include but are not limited to emotional support, communication support, exercise-based rehabilitation. Through campaigning, they have been hugely successful in making more people aware of the signs of a stroke and the importance of taking emergency action.
Any donations, no matter how big or small, will mean the world and more to us!
"When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives."
