There can’t be many people out there who haven’t had cancer in their family at one time or another.I have to admit that I knew very little about bowel cancer until my mother was diagnosed with the illness in 2012. After undergoing three operations Mum was in remission, until the cancer came back towards the end of 2014. She had her fourth operation at the beginning of 2015, and made a complete recovery. However towards the end of 2015 the cancer returned once again, and Mum had another lung operation in March 2016. Sadly the cancer the cancer also spread to her brain, and she passed away peacefully in August 2016.

All the funds that I raise from my activities go to Beating Bowel Cancer, which is the support and campaign charity for everyone affected by bowel cancer. It is a charity that is very close to my heart.
