Story
My beautiful baby girl Morwenna was stillborn at 37 weeks in September 2019.
The devastation of losing my baby has been horrific and I have been relying on the Sands online community for support in my darkest moments. I have found a group of other bereaved parents who truly understand how I feel and what I'm going through. No-one wants to be a part of this group, but I'm very grateful it does exist because without this support network I'd be feeling very lonely on my journey through grief.
With Morwenna being a September baby her flower is a sunflower and this has become an important symbol in our remembrance of her. We grew sunflowers last summer while I was pregnant with her, and I've kept some of those seeds to grow again for her this year.
I am raising money for Sands to help them continue their important support for bereaved parents and families.
Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, operates across the UK: supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby; working in partnership with health professionals to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care; and promoting improvements in practice and funding research that could help to reduce the loss of babies’ lives. We depend on the amazing energies of our supporters to raise the vital funds that we need to deliver the wide range of services that we offer. #TeamSands
