Thames Path Mighty Hike
Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support
Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support
In July 2025, I have challenged myself to take on the Thames Path Mighty Hike, a marathon-distance walk to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
When I signed up for this challenge in July 2024, my amazing (favourite) mother in law had just been diagnosed with a rare but aggressive form of bile duct cancer, and in just a few short months I have witnessed the devastating impact of cancer first-hand as she was taken from us in December 2024. More recently in 2025 we have lost an incredible friend, confidante and all round "mama bear" Saskia, whose fight with Stage 4 cancer ended on 26 January.
This disease is cruel.
My goal is to raise £350, which can make a significant difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. This amount can help fund essential services provided by Macmillan such as:
£28 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for an hour, providing vital medical, practical and emotional support to those living with cancer.
£52 could pay for a Macmillan Grants Supervisor for two hours, helping families facing financial difficulties due to cancer.
£75 could fund a cancer support worker for an hour, offering a listening ear and much-needed guidance for those who require it.
£195 could fund a Macmillan nurse for a full day, ensuring patients receive the best possible care and support.
Every donation, no matter what the size, brings us one step closer to a world where nobody has to face cancer alone. I'd love to be able to honour the memory of those we have lost, and support some of my closest friends who continue to fight.
Thank you for your support :)
